Certain water curtain spray booths can advantageously be converted to use pleated cardboard filters because of their long life: negligible conversion cost, large savings on operating costs (subject to technical -feasibility – consult us).
PLEATED/PERFORATED CARDBOARD FILTERS are designed for separation by inertia. This filter design, as illustrated, obliges the charged air flow to change directions several times. The particles heavier than air then adhere to the walls while the air flow continues unhindered.
The accordion pleats become filled with particles while the air flows freely through the holes, even when the filter is close to being saturated.
The efficiency of the pleated cardboard filter increases as it becomes saturated, which is why the filter should only be replaced when absolutely necessary, contrary to the blanket filter which rapidly loses its efficiency when it approaches saturation. Depending on the properties of the paint or powdered product, the filter, efficiency can be as high as 98 percent (high solids).
Its geometric design promotes distribution of the frontal speed:
APPLICATIONS : paint, polyester, glue, varnish, protection (wood, coal, insects, powder, etc.).
OPTIMUM EFFICIENCY:
The geometric design of the filter makes it stiff so that it requires supports only at the top and bottom but not in the middle ( the same is true foe horizontal installation).
